Malcolm Young, Chief Executive

Malcolm's entire career has been spent in commercial property development and investment. It began in 1964 with a well known London firm of chartered surveyors. Then, aged 22, he became national lettings manager for the development subsidiary of a major property company. There followed periods as head of the industrial department for a leading London surveying practice, and head of acquisitions for a London PLC property company.

Since joining the Wilky Group as Property Director in 1973 he has built up its development and industrial activities. In the early '90s he was seconded to BAA/McArthur Glen as UK Joint Managing Director to help establish it as Europe's leading factory outlet operator.

As Managing Director of Wilky Property Holdings plc, as well as Group Chairman and Chief Executive, he remains responsible for all the Group's property interests.

Malcolm is vice chairman of Hampshire Economic Partnership’s Land & Property Task Group, a key forum for planning, development and investment issues. He is also vice chairman of Enterprise First, the South East's leading enterprise agency.

Sandra Young, Director

A PR and marketing specialist, Sandra launched the Group's Parallel Business Centres division and was its managing director for 14 years. Currently her various responsibilities includes supervising the Group's HR strategy.

Before interrupting her career to start a family in the early '80s she was Marketing Director of a large DIY and retail store then owned by the Group. In 1984, having gained a Communications and Marketing Diploma and become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, she founded a separate PR company, The Parallel Group In response to the recession of the early '90s the company conceived and ran a campaign that led to the formation of a county inward investment agency and two local business forums in Guildford and Waverley.

In past years, she has been a non-executive director of County Sound Radio Ltd., which holds the Guildford commercial radio licence covering most of Surrey and North East Hampshire, since the station was launched. As a board member of Southampton Chamber of Commerce and a long serving member of both Surrey and Guildford Chambers of Commerce, she has been energetically involved in the business affairs of the region.

In 2008 she was appointed one of 1,000 nationwide ambassadors in a government project to encourage more female entrepreneurs. As a Women's Enterprise Ambassador Sandra is tasked with raising the profile of the important contribution women make to the economy by speaking at business events, in schools and writing about her experiences in the media.

Julian Munday, Finance Director

Julian was appointed Finance Director in 1997, having joined the Group as an accounts trainee 17 years before. He had been made Financial Controller in 1990 and became Administration Director two years later.

He is a member of the Institute of Financial Accountants, the Institute of Business Administration and Management and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Colin Moore, Marketing & Communications Director

A former national newspaper journalist, Colin was later marketing and PR manager for a leading football club where he was instrumental in marketing the then novel concept of executive suites that sponsors could use as offices during the rest of the week.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and for 15 years was a director of our regional PR company, specialising in professional firms, property-related businesses. He also helped form and became a director of a regional inward investment agency and advised the Surrey Economic Partnership. He has also advised on the communications aspects of more than 20 major strategic change situations involving mergers, acquisitions, business launches and rebranding. He assisted with the launch and development of our Parallel Business Centres operation and for several years had the specific role as their marketing director.
