£1/2M MAKEOVER FOR FARNBOROUGH LANDMARK 03-09-2004

One of Farnborough’s most prominent landmarks, The Sulzer Building, is to be renamed Westmead House as part of a £1/2m facelift.

Its owner, Wilky Property Holdings PLC, plans a new reception area and exterior signage, as part of a refurbishment package that will see the fourth floor of the building marketed as small office suites on shorter leases of two to four years.

Peter Richards of retained agents Atkinson Richards said: “We can configure four or five suites of between 750 and 3,000sq ft and see a strong local demand for such accommodation. Based opposite Farnborough Business Park, occupiers will find themselves well placed to benefit from Farnborough’s rapid rise as a significant business location.”

Westmead House has approximately 42,000 sq ft of offices and 188 parking spaces.
Wilky, a privately-owned local company, acquired the six-storey building for £4.5m as an investment earlier this year. It believes the town has exciting prospects, fuelled by Farnborough Airport’s ambition to become Europe’s leading business jet airport and the redevelopment of the Queensmead Shopping Centre.
