A local property group has been shortlisted for two different national awards, as a developer and fund manager.
The Wilky Group has been nominated as property developer of the year by Health Investor magazine for Aldershot Centre for Health, which was opened by The Princess Royal in December. The £30m building is the UK’s largest primary Healthcare Centre and is shared by NHS and Army health professionals.
Meanwhile Wilky’s fund management arm has been named as a finalist in the property manager of the year category by Global Pensions magazine. Wilky Fund Management is responsible for property portfolios totalling about £400m owned by three major pension funds. It was recently ranked 22nd in the list of UK fund managers by size of mandate.
Wilky chairman Malcolm Young said: “We are particularly pleased to be named as a finalist alongside much larger, internationally-known companies in two different property disciplines. It is thanks to the expertise of our professional teams that a regional business like Wilky is able to punch above its weight in this way.”
Wilky, a 60-year-old family-owned business, is based in Farnborough and Guildford. The Global Pensions Awards will be announced on March 17 with Health Investor making its decision in June.
