23-04-2010

The Merchant Navy Officers Pension Fund, managed by Wilky Fund Management, has won a national award for outperforming the market - despite the toughest commercial property recession in memory.

The MNOPF portfolio preserved more value than any other segregated pension fund of £100m to £500m. It achieved a three-year total return of -3.2% compared to the market average of -7.9%.

Announcing the IPD/IPF UK Property Investment Awards 2010, Ian Cullen, co-founding director at IPD, said: “Difficult times are precisely when these Awards matter most. If you can deliver market-beating returns in the most torrid of circumstances then you genuinely deserve to be rewarded and recognised.”

Nick Yeomans, managing director of Wilky Fund Management, said: “This award is a tribute to the hard work of my talented team in difficult times. Their efforts have helped secure income and preserve value for Merchant Navy pensioners.
